Dear Ronnie and Heather,
It is rare that I take the time to write a positive letter about a car-buying experience but in this case I feel compelled to do so. I was ready to purchase a used vehicle but I did not want to take the time to visit dealership after dealership dealing with the inevitable aggressive sales person and being shuffled from the sales person to the finance manager etc. So I decided to try and thoroughly research the internet with respect to price, inquire about several vehicles that met my criteria and try to iron out EVERY detail of the purchase via email or fax. This was simply the way that I wanted to approach the purchase and I was hoping to find a dealership that would respect this. However, I was very skeptical. I scanned autotrader.com for weeks and made numerous inquiries but consistently met the roadblock of dealers wanting me to come in for a test drive or wanting to negotiate with me via telephone. However, then I came across a vehicle at a dealership called Lightning Motorsports in Grand Prairie Texas owned and operated by Ronnie and Heather Moreno and decided to send an inquiry. Heather responded to every inquiry (and there were lots) I had via email and always replied in a courteous, respectful and expedient manner. She respected the way I wanted to do business every step of the way and was not "pushy" as you typically find in the car business. Her written description of the vehicle was right on target. I could have purchased a similar vehicle thirty minutes from my home but decided instead to drive hundreds of miles to Grand Prairie to take a cursory test drive and purchase my vehicle. All of this because I was respected, treated professionally and courteously, and I trusted the Morenos implicitly. It is a bit odd because I am usually a very cautious person when dealing with others (especially a purchase of this magnitude) but they earned my trust simply through their responses to my emails. When I arrived, I was still a little skeptical but there was absolutely no deviation from anything we had negotiated via email. In fact, Heather even knocked off $100 from the purchase price we agreed upon because of some steering problem she perceived that to this day I have not even noticed. To any prospective used car buyers, Lightning Motorsports should be at the top of your list when you begin your search. Rest assured, they will be the first dealership I contact when my family is in the market for our next vehicle. Thank you VERY MUCH Ronnie and Heather.

Sincerely,

Cory and Jennifer Cofield

Heather,

We got home last night around 11:30. The drive was great, no problems out of the car at all. It really was everything you described, and more. I really appreciate your answering my 1000's of questions about it yesterday and in the days before my trip. I wish there were more dealerships like yours in our area; everyone you employ is friendly and seems to genuinely car about what they're doing. But I did have one final question...

When I was talking to Ronnie about the car's alarm system yesterday, he said that since it didn't come with a remote when you purchased it, he had it disconnected. I'm not really familiar with aftermarket alarm systems, and I can't remember the name of the alarm that he told me it had, and I wanted to go about picking up a remote for it (or even a new factory remote, as I think GS-T's come equipped with a factory remote entry system as well). If there were any way I could find out about that, please let me know.

Also, I'm probably going to come back to Dallas within the next couple months to get the timing belt/water pump service done and the valve stem seals. It is a long drive, but the services you guys performed were excellent (and I would probably be back in town before most shops around here had even had time to LOOK at my car).

Also, I wanted to thank you for letting me know about the problem with the clutch. The difference between the old one and the new one is like the difference between night and day, and most dealers would have just let the car go as it was, instead of eating part of the cost of the clutch as you guys did. I definitely appreciate you letting me know about that.

Overall, I had a very positive experience purchasing from you all and would definitely do it again. Thank you once again for everything, and I'll definitely be in contact over the next couple months regarding the possibility of having those repairs performed by you.

Hope Ronnie's surgery went well... and good luck to all of you. I'll be in touch soon...

Chris

Hi, Heather,

I just wanted to drop a line and let you know how much Chris and I appreciate the very cordial treatment you gave us Monday while there to purchase his 1998 Eclipse GST. He loves that car. He got that bad window tint removed and the car looks great!!!
Your entire staff is to be commended. Chris plans on bringing the car back for the timing belt, water pump and valve seat replacement in the next couple of months.
Hope you husband is doing OK after his surgery Tuesday. You're both a couple of great folks and are very knowledgeable of the auto industry.
Have a great Labor Day holiday (if you're off !!!) and take care.

Sincerely,
Paul Pounders
